Description

Burlington, Vermont and surrounding area is home to one of the most diverse fisheries in the nation.  The opportunity exits to cast a fly to Rainbow, Brook, and Brown Trout, LL Atlantic Salmon, Steelhead, Smallmouth and Largemouth Bass, Pickerel, and Pike. All are possibilities depending on the time of the year. While Trout are Maple Country Anglers staple, depending on conditions and timingr we can target any of the species above. We fish rivers, small streams, lakes and ponds and specialize in Western Style float trips from our drift boat, a unique and incredible way to fish Vermont.

What people are saying about Maple Country Anglers

-The day with Ben was one of my best fishing outings ever. My wife gifted me and my son-in-law with a full day. Between us, we landed a couple dozen trout. My first catch of the day was a 24" brown trout, setting the tone for the rest of the float. Ben provided the equipment and flies, kept us set up and provided helpful suggestions as to where to cast, etc. His easy manner and low key personality made the trip a real pleasure. Highly recommended!

-I have used Ben as a guide for two trips. Ben really knows trout. I have found that each time I have gone with him I have learned so much about fly fishing and use the skills I learn to continue to catch fish. He is really ethical about catch and release and is a licensed guide which is really important for the care of what he is providing. I know a lot of big guide companies exist, but Ben being the only one in his company means you really get quality control. My only complaint is that I caught more and bigger fish with Ben then any of the other times I have been fishing. It is a little hard to go back to normal fishing after a day with Ben. I would highly recommend Ben, and it is well worth the money to go fishing with him.

-Ben is a great guy and a great guide. My wife had never been fly fishing before and we wanted Ben to help her learn to cast and help her catch a couple of fish. We were wading so not a drift boat trip. Ben not only helped my wife learn how to fly fish, but he helped me learn a new style of fishing (tight leader nymphing) which I had never done before, and we both caught fish. Ben was good with both a veteran and a novice fisherman, and we had some good laughs as well. A half day trip was just the right length for us.
