“Hawaii on the Fly”, my custom flats boat is the key to my high catch rate and sight-fishing success. I cater to devoted fly fishermen targeting Hawaii’s super sized bonefish that will, without a doubt, become your next addiction. If it swims and bites a fly we know where to catch it. Whether you are searching for a record bonefish or just into the challenge of hunting Hawaiian bones, we have the knowledge and top of the line gear to get it done.
Capt. Mike Hennessy and Capt. Collin Huff both have USCG 100ton Masters Captains licenses with thousands of days on the water to insure you have a safe and successful day with us. “Featured in the 2009 IGFA world record book, and the Outdoor Channel” The island of Oahu is home to Hawaii’s most extensive flats teeming with bonefish (if you know where to look). If you’re on your way to Christmas Island stop over to practice your casts and catch a BIG bonefish.
Your day on the Hawaiian flats includes our flats boats and A+ experienced guides, tying our own flies to get in the heads of these big bones. We don’t fish by our watches we fish by nature so plan on doing whatever winds, tides and the sun is telling us to do, we just love to fish and have fun. Pack light we have top of the line equipment “fly” and “Spinning” or bring your own.
Location & Transportation
If you’re coming in from an outer Hawaiian island, we’ll pick you up and drop you back off at the airport free of charge. We also offer discounted taxi service from Waikiki for all of our anglers. Of course, fishing start times and end times are all tide dependent. So we don’t watch our watches, we take our cues from Mother Nature.
What people are saying about Hawaii on the Fly
"Wife bought 1/2 day bonefish charter for son and I, had time of our lives. Guide Nick quickly put us on the fish and shared some of his angler tricks. Put simply, Nick was great. This is a great activity for anglers of all, or even no, experience. Will definitely do again and recemmend highly." JB
"Sent my husband over from Maui to give this a try and even though it rained,he landed a fish and was very happy with Kenny and enjoyed the experience and instruction. He will be going back soo,and maybe do a Christmas Island trip.Hes an avid Fly Fisherman and really enjoyed this new challenge."-Bob
"In two different occasions I was helped by Hawaii On the Fly, these guys are awesome!
First, Cap. Kenny Karas checked the set up I had and gave me a few pointers, tips and his leader/tippet/lure combo out of his rod and I was catching fish the same day. Amazing!
Then, another day at Kbay when I was taking my family cruising on my friend's boat I found out (the hard way) the battery was dead on my boat. Captain Mike was near by and offered a jump. Sounds simple but his boat was already out of the water and on the trailer. He went ahead to put it back in the water, drive around to get my boat started! Nice guy!
BTW, I'll be buying more lures from Kenny K ;)
Thank you guys!!"
