SeasonOpen for only 14 weeks each summer
Escape to Montana’s historic Firehole Ranch for a rare opportunity to fish the fabled, wild trout waters of the Rocky Mountain West. We fish legendary rivers including the Madison, the Yellowstone, the Henry’s Fork of the Snake, the Gallatin, the Ruby, the Firehole and the Lamar, to name just a few. Enjoy absolutely unforgettable fishing in some of the most spectacular scenery in the world.
Open for only 14 weeks each summer and hosting just 20 guests at a time, you truly become a part of the Firehole family. From the moment you arrive, you’ll be on first name basis and enjoy personal hospitality from every member of the Firehole team. Integral to the appeal of the Ranch is the innovative, gourmet cuisine prepared by Master Chefs Bruno and Kris Georgeton, who have been delighting guests for over two decades. Imagine yourself after a rewarding day on the water, unwinding with a cocktail, getting to know your fellow guests, and savoring a delectable dinner to conclude an exceptional day.
When you’re not out on the water, you can enjoy nearby Yellowstone and Grand Teton National Parks. Other activities here on the Ranch include horseback riding, hiking, mountain biking, canoeing and simply relaxing in nature. An ideal end to the evening is to slip back to your cabin and curl up under a blanket on your porch, letting the famous Montana Big Sky provide the encore.
The absolutely unheard of variety and abundance of legendary trout waters surrounding the Firehole Ranch offer virtually every type of Western fly fishing experience imaginable. Here you can tempt those wily trout with wet or dry flies, nymphs, or try a tandem rig. Opportunities abound for every type of approach, walk/wading or floating. Each river, stream or creek will provide a different opportunity with each unique stretch, offering limitless possibilities for combining casting strokes with fly selections, and different approaches. Our expert guides are skilled teachers and will patiently instruct you on everything from the fundamentals of casting, to reading the water and determine what is hatching. For the ultimate, intimate fly fishing adventure, escape the stresses of your modern world and come to the Firehole Ranch. A trip here is addicting and many of our loyal guests return faithfully each year, following the spring hatch for just one more chance to chase those beautiful, elusive, wild trout.
The 10 historic cabins of the Firehole Ranch each have their own personality and charm; all are richly appointed with classic Western themes, warm comfortable furniture and luxury bedding, carefully selected art, and other thoughtful details are sure to please. Like the Ranch itself, the cabins are part of your journey and escape during your stay with us. We encourage you to look over our wonderful selection of cabins and will do our best to meet your requests.
The Watkins Creek and Caddis Cabins stand alone and are our two largest luxury cabins with a bedroom, living room with wood stove, private bath, and private front porch. We have three deluxe cabins which feature a bedroom, living room with a wood stove or fireplace, private bath, private back deck and shared front porch. The remaining five cabins are more traditional with a great room that includes a sitting area, some with a wood stove or fireplace, private bath, private back deck and shared front porch. The majority of our cabins offer a shared front porch which encourages the cultivation of new friends and the development of warm camaraderie amongst our guests, a key part of the Firehole experience.
